If that’s true, then you have to ask someone and figure that out and change it to the right size. We tend to use the standard size and not to use the widescreen one just to make it a little bit easier to print these out on paper.The other thing I’ll mention quickly about the design menu, Alt, G, is that if your bank has a particular PowerPoint theme that they use, you also want to make sure to reflect it here. So you can adjust this accordingly.But that is one quick point I wanted to mention here that you want to be careful about the slide size before you start doing anything. If you are in a country that uses the metric system, which is every country outside the US, you’re going to see centimeters here instead. Here you can see the width is 10 inches and the height is 7.5 inches. It’s easier to do this upfront then to have to go back in later on and fix it or change it around.And then the last thing I want to point out quickly is that if you haven’t already done so, when you right click a text box or shape in PowerPoint and then. Figure out if your firm has something like this that you should be using and if so, make sure you apply it in the beginning for the same reason. We’re going to go with a very minimalist sparse layout right here.But some banks do have their preferred themes and you want to be conscious of that. So we’re not going to even bother. So the Slide Master, if you go to Alt, W, M to access Slide Master, essentially this lets you create templates for different types of slides.If you have a slide with a title at top and then some text, you can create a template for that. But for now, I wanted to introduce you to this concept and show you how you can use it for a variety of different purposes. Let’s go to point number two, the Slide Master.The Slide Master is a very important topic and we’re actually going to be spending several lessons on it later on in this course. It’s going to make it a lot easier to format shapes and figure out where they belong on slides if your formatting box is floating like this one is.So that’s about all I wanted to mention on that point about slide setup. So if you right click a text box or shape and go to Format Shape toward the bottom of that menu, you want a box that floats like this.So if yours is stuck over here on the side, I would strongly recommend detaching it by left clicking and holding it and dragging and moving it out here. So to illustrate what I’m talking about let’s just go down here. And the advantage is that, let’s say that you have a couple slides that use something like this company profile template.If you are not using the Slide Master for this and you want to change the font size or you want to change the font face or something like that, you would have to go in to each slide manually. And it lets you handle these different scenarios. So the Slide Master can be a very powerful tool. And so you only have to make the change in one spot. If you want a change the date, you can go to the bottom and just change date once and that will be reflected everywhere.So let’s say I want to change the date to 2015, by using the Slide Master, I can do just that and then on every single profile slide here, it changes to 2015. And whatever is on here will be inherited by everything else down here.So if you set your logo at the bottom in a certain way or you have things over here on the side that are set up a certain way or you have a certain font size, every other type of template that you create will start by using those styles by default. This is the master theme slide or office theme Slide Master, as PowerPoint calls it. And to illustrate how that works, I’m going to go to the first slide in our Slide Master over here. I don’t have to guess about the colors because they’re all laid out right here. Well, I don’t have to guess what font to use because it’s all laid out on the left-hand side of the slide. And then below that I have another font size 14 for any type of title text and the normal bullet and subtitle text size 12 and then chart, profile, and currency text size 10.This is important because if you’re ever creating a new slide rather than having to go back and forth and check other slides in your presentation to see what font size you’re using, it’s very easy because as soon as you insert it, it just appears on the left hand side.So, for example, if you press Alt, M, C to close out of the Slide Master view, let’s say we insert a new slide right here. So I have set up our font face area and set the size 24 right here. Let’s close out again with Alt, M, C.
